Illuminate Management to present award of excellence at QUT Fashion Graduates Final Showcase

Tonight the Graduates of Fashion Design from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) will present their final collections to media and fashion VIPs in what marks the second night of their annual runway extravaganza, this year themed DUST.

With almost twenty talented and innovative design students putting their creative collections out on the runway, the culmination of an exciting but challenging year of preparation comes down to three final shows.

Each year, the night is a chance for Brisbane’s fashion industry to come together and support the creative showcase, with the close of the evening including the presentation of awards to select talented students whose collections struck a chord with the notable sponsors. Illuminate Management is thrilled to announce their inception and sponsorship of the award for the “Exceptional Manipulation of Fabric”.

Director of Queensland’s premier creative talent agency Illuminate Management, Liz Golding, has long been involved with the QUT Creative Industries through her past role as a Styling Director of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival, fashion editor and model. Attending the final showcase to support the creative industries and fellow fashion alumni has been a yearly routine for Liz. “Seeing the unique and high quality collections presented by the young designers each year is a highlight on the Brisbane fashion calendar – it is inspiring to see what the future of Australian fashion holds.”

Taking this year’s involvement to the next level, Liz felt that sponsoring an award to support a promising designer was a natural step in the already extensive involvement that agency Illuminate Management and co-agency IlluminateUs PR has in developing and promoting Queensland creative industries. With a full board of top Photographers, Hair, Makeup and Styling talent, the agency is just a reflection of the standard of talent in Queensland and Northern NSW. “Our tight knit industry is full of world class creatives at our doorstep, there are no boundaries to what we can bring to the nation’s fashion industry – this starts with supporting new designer talent,” Liz explains.

Tonight, the Illuminate team will be on the lookout for a collection that explores the intricacies of fabric. “I love the creativity of prints, texture, and use of craft.” Liz believes craft is making a huge resurgence in creative design, “new-gen designers are always playing with materials and hand-made elements, bringing something new and special to the table.”
